Why i love mom even more. . .

I love my mom even more now (if that's possible) because now, now i feel like one. I tell Deede, my co-counselor, that it is like we got married and had 4 ten-year-old daughters for our honeymoon. I call her my wife, and i am hers. These kids are crazy and only sometimes listen to us and are all over us and challenging every we say. Parents, why do you have kids?

Tonight we had a counselor hunt, and it is exactly what it sounds like. The 7-12 year old counselors got a head start and then the kids had to tag us to get points, however, some of us were worth negative points. I was worth negative 200 and was caught at least ten times. Ha!

Looking forward to my day off, though i don't know what i will be doing.

Let you know when i do.

First day of Campers

I have just finished my first day with the campers. Deede and I (my co-counselor)have four kids in our cabin.Hannah, Elizabeth, Abby, and Maddie and they are all 10. very hyper and clingy. Tomorrow i will be playing tennis all day. I got certified in adventure as well so i will be doing that some days. I am tired all the time and need to keep my energy up all the time. Hopefully i can work it out. Everything is crazy and i'm a little home sick. Anyone got combat tips for homesickness? It is weird to the one missing home when all the kids are fine and have never been homesick duringtheir many summers here.

I hope every one is doing well.

First day in a flash

I arived at four thirty and was one of the last people to show up at camp. Threw my stuff in Starlings cabin and went staight to a flag pole meeting and the other tennis people. It is me a guy Zach from PA, Mike a guy from London, and Chris the senior staff and my boss in a sense. I think it will be a lot of fun with our small group. Had dinner than a ice breaker thing. There was a social or also know as awkward dance. Passes out as soon as i was in bed.
Today is nothing but meetings and ends with bon fire. Everyone is fun and full of energy i dont have.

We'll see how the week turns out.

I'll try to have pics next time.

Leaving Tomorrow

I am heading for PA at 6:45am (Yikes! Way too early) tomorrow with a layover in Detroit. Tonight is filled with nerves and doubt on whether or not i have packed all the right things. I got two heavy big bags and a puffy backpack (I got to put Sealy somewhere)to lug around the Airport. Let's hope i don't the pass weight limit on those suckers and end up paying some stupid fee.
This first week only the counselors will be there, and the following week the kids start to show up. I still don't know the age group of my cabin yet, or who the other counselor will be that will share the cabin with me- but I will soon. I can't wait to play tennis. I have only played a few times with mom, but am looking forward to a little more competitive play ( sorry mom, threw you under the bus on that one). Tennis will be my bitch this summer.
I will try to keep everyone posted on all that happens at camp; the good, the bad, and the hilarious things the kids say.
